CAMDEN — Eleanor M. Hardy, 88, Camden, passed away at 11:40 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2013, in Memorial Hospital, Logansport.

Born Feb. 23, 1925, in Cerra Gorda, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Herman and Emma (Deahl) Weiland. On Sept. 1, 1948, in Camden, she married John “Alec” Hardy, who preceded her in death Feb. 15, 1995.

Eleanor worked for RBM for 10 years before retiring and wintering in Florida with her husband.

Eleanor was a member of Deer Creek Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed quilting, scrapbooking, and gardening. She was especially known for baking her pies.

Surviving are two daughters, Susan (Bill) Dyke, Camden, and JoEllen Hardy, Logansport; two sons, David Hardy, Monticello, and William A. Hardy and companion Sue Smith, Camden; two grandsons, Bryan (Nikki) Hardy, and Chris (Jennifer) Dyke, both of Camden; two granddaughters, Kendra (Michael) Winegardener, and Stephany (Michael) Prather, both of Walton; and great-grandhchildren, Courtney and Mason Winegardener, Oliver and Leah Hardy, Madison Dyke, and Grant Prather.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Eva Weiland and Dorothy Huff, and one brother, Willard “Bud” Weiland.

A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Eleanor’s lifelong neighbor the Rev. Paul Marcellino officiating. Burial will be in Rock Creek Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday also in the Gundrum Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Deer Creek Presbyterian Church, Logansport Memorial Hospital Foundation, or the Shrine Guilds of America Education Fund.
