TUSCON, Ariz. —
Betty Carr Leazenby passed peacefully March 17, 2013, in Tucson, Ariz.
A celebration of her life is planned for late spring or summer in her hometown, Kewanna, date to be announced.
Born to Arvin and Hazel (Greer) Carr Nov. 28, 1926, in South Bend, Betty was the oldest of four children.
Her husband Edward (Eddie), her parents and her sisters, Barbara and Bea Ann, preceded her in death.
Her brother Don Carr resides in Lady Lake, Fla. with his wife Mary Lou. Other surviving family includes three sons and daughters-in-law, Edward (Bud) and Donna Leazenby, Dennis and Laura Leazenby, all of Tucson, Ariz., and Gary and Pat Leazenby, Carol Stream, Ill.; seven grandchildren including David (wife Erica) Leazenby and Amanda (husband Chad) Kaluza, Carmel, Damon Leazenby, Fishers, Brian Leazenby, Elgin, Ill., Jeff Leazenby, stationed in Portsmouth, N.H., Kevin (wife Diane) Baldus, Aurora, Ill., Carrie (husband Shayne) Lorenz, Cadillac, Mich.; as well as eight great-grandchildren, 14 nieces and nephews, 26 great nieces and nephews, and many great-great nieces and nephews.
Betty and her husband resided in the Kewanna area in their early married years, raised their boys in Wyoming, Mich. where Betty worked at Purity Cylinder and at Derk’s Marine, and retired in Newaygo, Mich. Betty returned to Kewanna in 2000 and in 2012 she moved to Tucson.
