Hanna E. Appleton
DELPHI — Hanna E. Appleton, 94, formerly of Camden, died Sunday, July 21, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Healthcare, Delphi, where she had been a resident since April 2012.
She was born Aug. 20, 1918, in Royal Center to Ira Chester and Geneva Kramer Fultz. On July 29, 1937, she marred Forrest Appleton, who preceded her in death in August 1963. She was a graduate of Royal Center High School.
She was the bookkeeper and office manager of the Camden Telephone Company for 35 years, also serving on the Board of Directors for many years. She was a member of Camden First Baptist Church. She was a 60-plus-year member of both the Order of Eastern Star, Carroll County Chapter 475 and Camden Women’s Literary Club. She also was member of Camden Perservatory Society. She loved creative arts and was an avid reader.
Surviving are four sons , Lee Appleton (spouse Gere), Stanford, Ill.; Dean Appleton (spouse Linda), Logansport; Brian Appleton, Batesville; and Bill Appleton (spouse Brenda), Delphi. Also surviving is a sister, Dr. Sara Fultz, eight grandchildren,and 12 great-grandchildren. Preceding her death was a brother, Bill Fultz, and grandson, Brett Appleton.
The funeral will be at 5 p.m. at Camden First Baptist Church with Pastor Jerry Long officiating. Burial will be at Camden Cemetery.
Visitation will be 3 p.m. Friday until the time of the funeral at the church.
