GALVESTON — Mark R. Mullens, 81, Galveston, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born March 14, 1933, in Middletown, Ohio, to Cecil and Lilly (Rogers) Mullens. He married Mattie H. Samson on June 21, 1952, near Logansport, and she survives.
Mark was a millwright by trade and retired from Delco Electronics with over 26 years service. He was a member of the Walton Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star and Scottish Rite. He was an avid Cubs fan and enjoyed watching them play.
He is survived by his wife Mattie Mullens, Galveston; son, Paul (Mary) Mullens, Galveston; daughters, Deborah (Jon) Rockwood, Smyrna, Tenn., Nancy (Tom) Rush, Logansport, and Brenda (Ervin) Bass, Sebring, Fla.; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Don (Becky) Mullens, Walton, Ron Mullens, Calif., Al Mullens, Fla.; and one sister, Janice (David) Carey, Ky.
He was preceded in death by his parents, half-brother Trelin Mullens, one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
A celebration of life service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Murray Weaver Funeral Home, Galveston, with Pastor Rod Mason officiating. Burial will follow at Ever Rest Memorial Park Cemetery in Logansport.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Murray Weaver Funeral Home, Galveston. Masonic Rites will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions can be given to the Shriners Children’s Hospital.
