Helen Mae Thomas, 86, Logansport, passed away Thursday morning, July 3, 2014, in St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.
Helen was born in Logansport June 9, 1928, to the late Earl and Matilda (Fillman) Koons. She was married Nov. 22, 1958, in Trinity Lutheran Church to Robert D. (Bob) Thomas who preceded her in death on Feb. 26, 1995.
Helen was a homemaker. She had been a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed listening to country and gospel music, visiting friends and relatives, baking, going on walks and working in the yard. Helen loved animals, particularly the four cocker spaniels she had over the years, Penny, Cindy, Molly and Abby.
She is survived by one son, Mark E. Thomas, Logansport; sister-in-law, Marilyn Thomas, Logansport; several nieces and nephews; and many caring friends and neighbors. She also had a very special friend, Susan Le Donne, who was the daughter of Norma Slusher, Helen’s best friend of more than 70 years.
A celebration of life will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Gundrum Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Collins officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Visitation will be 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
