BURROWS — Raymond Wayne Heise, 76, Burrows, passed away unexpectedly at 2:20 a.m. Monday, June 30, 2014, at his residence.
He was born Oct. 13, 1937, in Logansport, to the late Madison Ray and Mary Alice Smith Heise. His marriage was to Elizabeth A. “Betty” Berkshire Heise, in Delphi, on Nov. 8, 1957, and she survives.
He was a 1955 graduate of Delphi High School. He worked for Essroc near Logansport for 37 years, retiring from there, and for over 40 years had Heise Welding Service at his home. He was gifted in welding and fabrication, and liked engineering different projects that people brought to him.
He was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Pittsburg, and formerly attended the Burrows Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the IOOF Lodge in Delphi.
He enjoyed model airplane construction and loved to fly his AC planes. He also owned a couple of ultra light aircraft and enjoyed flying them to. He liked to play golf, fish, boat and camp. He dearly loved his family, and the good Lord.
Surviving him is wife, Betty Heise of Burrows; daughters, Corrina Sue Carrillo and Clemente Carrillo of Logansport, Janet and Dean Minor of Delphi, and Lorraine and Dave Kauffman of Delphi; sons, Sam and Jean Heise of Rockfield, and Leonard and Julie Heise of Kokomo; and 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded by a half-brother, Herb.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Abbott Funeral Home, Delphi, with Pastor Brent Oliver officiating. Burial will be at IOOF Cemetery, Rockfield.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
