Donald J. Kline, 76, Logansport, passed away at 7:30 a.m. Monday, June 30, 2014, in his residence, following a short battle with cancer.
Born Jan. 19, 1938, in Logansport, he was the son of Joseph and Alice Vincent Kline.
On April 17, 1964, in Logansport, he was married to Norma Jean Locke, who survives in Logansport.
Donald went to work at RCA right out of high school. He was employed there for 28 years, until they closed. He then retired from Modine Manufacturing. Donald was also a U.S. Army veteran.
He was an avid NASCAR fan, especially of Carl Edwards, and also a Chicago Bears fan.
Donald enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his dogs, Mitzy and CoCo.
Also surviving are children, Melissa J. Downs and Brian J. (Heather) Kline, all of Logansport; grandchildren, Haley Downs, Dakota Downs, Auston Hileman, Owen Hileman and Elsee Hileman, all of Logansport; great-grandchildren, Amelia Rodriguez and Reece Rodriguez; and siblings, Terry F. (Mary) Kline, Kokomo, and William E. Kline, Orlando.
Preceding him in death were siblings, Alfred Kline, Ambrose Kline, Carl Kline, Betty Hensell and Elmer A. Kline.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Kroeger Funeral Home, with Rev. Damon Soper officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
