June D. Zimmerman, 76, Logansport, passed away at 8:35 p.m. Friday, June 27, 2014, at IU Methodist Hospital of Indianapolis. She was born Feb. 16, 1938, in Jamestown, Kentucky, to the late Wallace and Opal “Pierce” Acree. June’s first marriage was to Harold O. Waggoner, who preceded her in death in 1978. She later married John D. Zimmerman, who also preceded her in death in 2000.
June worked at Federal Mogul for 17 years. She was a graduate of Selma High School, enjoyed cross stitching, cooking and gardening. Her biggest passion was her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include one son, Guy (Deb) Waggoner, Logansport; daughter, Michelle (Tim) Hare, Carmel; sister, Vivian McIntire, Kalamazoo, Michigan; five granddaughters, Sarah (Donny) Raderstorf, Galveston, Jessica (Cody) Brandt, Royal Center, Kelsey Storen, Long Beach, California, Emma Storen, Indianapolis, and Abigail Waggoner, Logansport; two grandsons, Christopher and Jeremy Waggoner, both of Logansport; and six great-grandchildren, Felicia, Jordan, Landon and Ashton Raderstorf, Kaitlyn Bault and Wyatt Brandt.
She was preceded in death by one grandson, Scott Waggoner; four brothers; and three sisters.
A celebration of life will be 7 p.m. Thursday at Gundrum Funeral Home. Visitation will be 3 p.m. until the service time Thursday at the funeral home. A private entombment will be held at the Ever-Rest Memorial Park Cemetery near Logansport.
