Marion L. Minks, 92, Logansport, passed away at 4:28 a.m. Sunday, April 14, 2013, at Logansport Memorial Hospital. Born Aug. 30, 1920, in Bloomfield, Ind., he was the son of the late Guy and Edith Constable Minks. On Sept. 26, 1941, in Bloomfield, Marion married Marjorie L. Corwin, who survives.
Marion retired from Logan Machine Co. in 1983 after 42 years of service.
He attended First Church of the Nazarene and was a World War II Army veteran who received a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart while serving his country.
Surviving along with his wife are two sons, Terry (Joyce) Minks, Tucson, Ariz., and Daniel (Charlotte) Minks, Parrish, Fla.; one daughter, Marilyn (Craig) Hubler, Portland, Ore.; two brothers, Mervin Minks and Paul (Martha Jean) Minks, both of Logansport; one sister, Martha Becker, Cincinnati, Ohio; eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Gundrum Funeral Home, with Dr. Horace Smith officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Logansport.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
