Sue Elizabeth McCloskey Wheeler, 97, Logansport, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at the St. Vincent Heart Center, Indianapolis.

Born Feb. 9, 1916, in Deer Creek, she was the daughter of the late Wilmer and Ethel (Hubler) McCloskey. On June 16, 1942, in Columbus, Ohio, she married Charles W. Wheeler who preceded her in death on Oct. 10, 2009.

Sue was a member of the former Disciples of Christ Christian Church, Young America, where she taught young adult Sunday school classes. She was a 1934 graduate of Young America High School, she then completed a two-year business education degree at Bryant and Stratton College. She enjoyed investments, reading the Wall Street Journal, traveling and outdoor activities in Chicago.

Surviving her is one daughter, Anita L. Wheeler, New York; and one brother, Rex McCloskey, Galveston; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Don, Max, and Wilmer McCloskey, and five sisters, Wilma Straight, Mary Addy, Gene Ison, Joan Smiley and Phyllis Dillon.

A funeral service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday in the Gundrum Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be in Center Cemetery, Young America.

Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service.
