Larry L. Jester
LUCERNE — Larry L. Jester, 74, formerly of Lucerne, loving father and grandfather, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital, following an extended illness.
He was born Aug. 26, 1939, in Muncie, to the late Roy and Ruth (Martin) Jester. Larry proudly served in the U.S. Navy and attended Center High School. He was retired from Wilson Foods, Logansport, after 16 years of service and had also worked at Marhoefer Meat Packing Co., Muncie. He was a member of Logansport Eagles Aerie 323 and loved to play golf, watch the Colts and catch a fish now and again.
He is survived by his two sons, Tim Jester, Muncie, and Eric Jester (wife: Tracey), Logansport; stepdaughter, Cindy Rice (husband: John), Muncie; stepson, Donnie Combs, Muncie; brother, Paul Jester (wife: Pat); two sisters, Marie Moody (husband: Gene) and Debbie Jester; and two sisters-in-law, Ruby Martin and Sammi Jester. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Edna “Sue” (McCammon) Jester, who passed away in 1991; three brothers, Bert Martin, Donald Martin and Jim Jester; and two sisters, Carolyn VanSkyock and Sandy York.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Parson Mortuary, 801 W. Adams St., Muncie, with Pastor Dennis Rush officiating. Cremation will follow with private burial at a later date at Elm Ridge Cemetery.
Friends and family may call at the mortuary from 12 to 2 p.m. Saturday prior to the service.
