NASHVILLE — ALS took the life of Alice Louise (Rude) Howard, 65, on Aug. 2, 2013, in Nashville, Tenn.

She was born April 15, 1948, in Winamac, the daughter of Harold (Fuzzy) and V. Avanell (Stoner) Rude.

She dedicated 40 years of employment to the Imperial Insurance Agency in Nashville from which she made many friends. She also had proudly been a recovering addict of Alcoholics Anonymous for 15 years and mentored those in need.

In order to assist in research of ALS, she generously donated her body to the Genesis program in Memphis.

She is survived by four children, seven grandchildren, three great-grandchild, her mother, V. Avanell Rude, Winamac; bother, Richard (Rebecca) Rude, Royal Center; sisters Carolyn (David) Wischmann, Fla.; Vivian (Richard), Elkhart, and Ginger (David) Hoeksera, Mich.

A celebration of life is planned at a later date in Nashville.
