LAFAYETTE — David L. Roberson, 72, Lafayette, passed away peacefully at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013, in Lafayette.

Born on Oct. 25, 1941, in Hammond, he was the son of the late George Lowell and Frances Isabelle (Appleton) Roberson. On April 5, 2003, in Nashville, Ind., he married Gail L. (Stringer) Garrison, who survives.

David retired from Chrysler in 1994, after working there 30 years. He also owned and operated Roberson Body Shop during that time. He was a 1959 graduate of Washington Township High School in Cass County. David was a member of the Moose Lodge 232 for 20 years, and also a member of the Local UAW 1320. David enjoyed working on the family farm and the old farm equipment. He also liked to go antiquing and working on his 1948 Willys Jeep.

Surviving along with his wife Gail are two daughters, Debbie (Kerry) Brown, Pendleton, and Lori (Marty) Boyer, Indianapolis; two stepsons, E. Chris (Amy) Garrison, and Karl Garrison and Kerra Wagener, both of Indianapolis; sister, Sandra Williams, El Cajon, Calif.; brother, John (Joanne) Roberson, Winchester, Tenn.; two grandsons, Kyle and Cody Brown, Pendleton; and four stepgrandchildren, Nick Garrison, Justin Garrison, Andrew Shaw and Sarah Shaw.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Daniel and William Roberson.

A celebration of life will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Aaron Gross officiating. Burial will be in Walton I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday.
