---- — Emma M. Amthauer, 88, formerly of Walton, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013, at Woodbridge Health Care Center.

She was born June 19, 1925, in Manson, (Clinton County), the daughter of Roy and Emma M. (Swope) Wilson. On June 14, 1953, in Walton, she married George C. Amthauer. George preceded her in death on Nov. 7, 2000.

Emma taught piano and organ for 55 years. She graduated from Little Jeff High School in 1943 and attended Indiana University for three years. She was a member of Walton Christian Church, the Forty Niners, Home Ec Club and the Cass County Chorus. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband.

She is survived by nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband (George), five brothers, James, Ralph, Claude, Martin and Paul and one sister Dorothy.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, at Murray Weaver Funeral Home, Galveston, with Rev. Bill Collins officiating. Burial will follow at Walton IOOF Cemetery in Walton.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.
