Betty Lou Voss


BURNETTSVILLE — Betty Lou Voss, 78, Burnettsville, passed away at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013 at I.U. Arnett Hospital, Lafayette.

Born Aug. 23, 1934, in Carroll County, she was the daughter of the late Woodrow W. Dilling and Grace (Short) Dilling Younkins.  On April 6, 1955, she married William R. Voss, Sr. He preceded her in death Dec. 20, 2006.

Betty was a 1952 graduate of Idaville High School.

She was employed for over 35 years at Logansport State Hospital where she worked as a nurse and also in the linen department.  

Betty was a member of Burnettsville Church of the Brethren and Women’s Fellowship.  She enjoyed making noodles and collecting stamps for the church’s various fundraisers.  She also enjoyed word searches and crossword puzzles, sewing, walking and riding her bike.  

Survivors include sons, William R. Voss Jr., (Jackie), Wetumpkia, Ala., Paul A. Voss (Terri), Monticello, Robert J. Voss, Muncie, and Robin L. Voss (Julie), Monticello; brother, Richard Dilling (Iris), Palesade, Colo.; and grandchildren, Amber Voss, Wetumpkia, Ala. and Madison and Macie Voss, Monticello.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Marocco-Rans Funeral Chapel with Pastor Dave Nihiser officiating. Burial will be in Rockfield Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
