Harold W. Burk, 95, formerly of Logansport, passed away at 12:24 a.m. Monday, Oct. 14, 2013, in Live Oak, Texas.

Born on Aug. 14, 1918, in Logansport, Harold was the son of Earl William and Bertha White Burk.

On Oct. 29, 1941, in Logansport, Harold was married to Eileen Elizabeth Spitznogle, who preceded him in death on Jan. 7, 1990. On Sept. 7, 1997, in San Antonio, he was married to Betty Lee Gainger Hardy, who preceded him in death on Dec. 14, 2009.

Harold retired as a yard conductor for Pennsylvania Railroad after 35 years of employment. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II.

He had been a member of the Anoka United Methodist Church, and was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3790 and American Legion Post 60.

Harold enjoyed fishing along the Wabash River and spending time working on the family farm. He also enjoyed riding in his son’s ‘23 T-Bucket.

Surviving are a son, William Burk, Sr. (wife, Mari E.), Live Oak, Texas; grandson, William Burk, Jr. (wife Cindy); granddaughter, Debbie Reed; sister, Mary Jane Cabiness, Logansport; brothers, Paul Burk and Bob Burk, both of Logansport, and Jim Burk (wife, Christine), Anderson; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Kroeger Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery where military honors will be accorded.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral Friday.
