George E. Martin, 85, Logansport, passed away at 6:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 14, 2013, in Memorial Hospital.

Born Dec. 8, 1927, in Kokomo, he was the son of Thomas Jefferson and Gladys Poindexter Martin.

On April 6, 1946, in Logansport, he was married to Madeline A. Winter, who preceded him in death on May 29, 2005.

George was a retired lieutenant for the Logansport Police Department, where he had served for 33 years.. A mechanic at heart, he enjoyed working on automobiles and also working in his yard. He was a member of the Logansport Fraternal Order of Police.

Surviving are three daughters, Judy Bulla, Attica; Nancy Dobes and her, husband, Joe, Merrillville; and Betty Denton and her husband, Ed, Logansport.

Also surviving are grandchildren, Bradley Bulla and his wife, Stacey; Matthew Bulla, Joshua Moon and his wife, Amanda; Thomas Dobes, April Wilson, Savanna Moon, Nathan Denton and Meredith Dobes; and great-grandchildren, Makayla Moon, Maddox Moon, Xander Wilson, Phoenix Wilson, Brady Moon, Madeline Moon and Peyton Moon; and a cousin, Jerry Drummond.

A son-in-law, Ron Bulla, preceded him in death.

The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Kroeger Funeral Home, with Dr. Bob Cosby officiating. Fraternal Order of Police honors will be accorded.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
