Mildred A. Forgey
GALVESTON — Mildred A. (Thieke) Forgey, 77, Galveston, passed away at 8:15 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013, after a life of much physical pain and many medical trials.
She was born June 6, 1936, to Osby and Letha (Pounds) Thieke, in Oakford. She married Dale E. Forgey on May 27, 1955. She graduated from Clay Schools in Miami County in 1954.
Though her body was weak and old before its time, her mind was sharp and she was always there whenever anyone needed a shoulder to cry on or someone to just support them in times of need. You could always go to the Forgey house to see her and know she would be there and ready to listen.
She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years; a daughter, Susan and husband, Carl Perry and a son, Michael D. and wife Katherine Forgey, all of Galveston; five grandchildren, Tyler Perry (companion, Jenna Reecer), Seth Forgey (wife, Chrystal), all of Walton, Savannah Forgey (companion, Jason Moore) of Lewisburg, Spenser Forgey (wife Carly) of Young America, Shelbi Forgey of Galveston; two great-grandchildren, Mariah Moore and Viktor Forgey. Also a special son, John Cox of Logansport, and one brother, Roy Thieke (wife, Derenda) of Quinlan, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Albert and Leonard Thieke.
A celebration of life memorial will be at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Center United Methodist Church, 1891 E. 1125 South, Galveston, with Pastor John Newman officiating.
Friends may visit with the family is from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
