Donald W. Langler, 82, Logansport, passed away at 12:40 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, at his residence surrounded by his family.

Born on Dec. 3, 1930, in Muskegon, Mich., he was the son of the late John and Jennie (Hamm) Langler. On Dec. 15, 1956, he married Shirley Quackenbush. Donald lost Shirley on July 17, 1997, after 40 years of marriage.

Donald enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps at age 17. He served for 22 years in the Air Force before retiring with an honorable discharge. After leaving the USAF, Don worked at Rockwell, Logansport, from which he also retired.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and gardening. He liked to joke and tease with those he was close to.

He is survived by daughter Suzan Cook; son Kevin Langler and his wife, Shelly; longtime companion, Cheryl; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his son, Stephen (Vietnam), five brothers and three sisters.

Services will be private.

Don requested no flowers and memorial contributions be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
