MEXICO — Charlotte Eloise (Long) Lorenz, 93, Mexico, passed away at 5:27 p.m. Sunday March 30, 2014, at Miller Merry Manor Nursing Home, Peru.
She was born May 26, 1920, in Miami County, to Eleck Long and Lillie (Ennis) Long. She graduated from Bunker Hill High School and Indiana Business College, Kokomo.
She married Ernest L. Lorenz on Nov. 22, 1942, and he preceded her on Nov. 23, 1991.
She worked as a secretary for Borden Ice Cream Co., Kokomo, helped her husband at the Mexico Elevator Co., Mexico, and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Mexico First Brethren Church, served as a song leader, worked with vacation bible school and was a Cub Scout den mother.
She is survived by son John M. Lorenz; daughter Judy V. Lorenz; five grandchildren, John Michael Lorenz and wife Lykia, Alicia Rene Kubly, Shawn Lough and wife Jennifer, Jordan Anascavage, Tiffany Anascavage; and seven great-grandchildren Andrew, Justin, Katelyn, Taylor, Jazmine, Connor and Brody.
She was preceded in death by both parents, husband, three brothers and three sisters.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Mexico First Brethren Church, with Pastor Ron Laudenschlager officiating. Burial will be at the Galveston Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 W. Third St., Peru.
