---- — MONTICELLO — Allen W. Catterlin, 51, Monticello, went to be with the Lord at 8:15 p.m. Sunday, March 23, 2014, at the St. Elizabeth Central Hospital, Lafayette.

He was born July 9, 1962, in Lafayette, to Geraldine “Jerri” (Rhoda) Catterlin, and the late Davey Lee Catterlin. On July 27, 1991, in Gatlinburg, Tenn., he married Judy “Lisa” Miller. She survives.

Allen had taught for Logansport Community High School for 25 years.

He was a caring husband, father, brother, uncle and mentor to many students over the years.

Surviving are wife, Judy “Lisa” Catterlin of Monticello; Nathan Catterlin of Monticello; mother, Geraldine “Jerri” (Rhoda) Bryant of Monticello; siblings, Diana (Jim) Hendley of Portage, Dave (Cindy) Catterlin of Arnold, Mo., Bruce (Linda) Catterlin of Monticello, and Deborah Calloway of Indianapolis; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; stepbrother, Phillip Bryant of Monticello; and mother-in-law, Joyce Miller of Morley, Tenn.

Celebration of life service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Christian Church, 105 Gordon Road, Monticello. Burial will follow at the Hughes Cemetery in rural Monticello.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Miller-Roscka Funeral Home, Monticello, and from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church.

Memorials may be given to the Gideon’s Bible Program. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and at the church.
