---- — TWELVE MILE — Bernice E. Burns, 93, Twelve Mile, passed away at 10 a.m. Friday, March 14, 2014, at Woodbridge Nursing Home, Logansport.

She was born June 7, 1920, to Clark and Glen (Sausaman) Lewis of Twelve Mile. On Oct. 12, 1940, she married Robert W. Burns. He passed away May 7, 1973.

Bernice was a member of the Corinth Brethren Church of Twelve Mile.

She is survived by one son, Robert Lee Burns (wife Penny) of Denver; one daughter, Beverly K. Burns of Twelve Mile; grandchildren, Christine Centers (husband Jamie), Ronald Burns (wife Jo) and Angela Burns; great-grandchildren, Jessica Centers Bell, Michelle Centers Skinner, Jacob Centers, Jessica Shafer Hammons, Jonathan Burns, Mariah Burns, Derek Wagoner, Aaron Wagoner, Evan Vizcarra and Tiffany Wooten; and six great-great-grandchildren, Elijah, Abram, Keeli, Sophia, Kayden, Cameron and two more on the way.

She is preceded in death by both parents; husband, Robert W. Burns; one great-grandson, Graham Burns Vizcarra; and three sisters and their spouses, Dorothy and Woodrow Gwin, Helen and John Abshire and Margaret and Mike Zartman.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, Peru. Burial will be at Westlawn Cemetery, Denver, with Pastor Ben Pippen officiating.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
