KOKOMO — Crystal Helen Newburn, 94, Kokomo, formerly of Logansport and Walton, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014, in Century Villa Health Care and Rehab, located in Greentown.
Born Nov. 27, 1919, in Cass County, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Edna (Nelson) Plank. On Oct. 20, 1946, in Walton, she married Edward Dale Newburn, who preceded her in death on Feb. 21, 1998.
Crystal was a beautician and a homemaker. She was a member of the New Life Alliance Church in Logansport, and also attended the First Church of the Nazarene in Kokomo. She enjoyed doing crafts, volunteer work, gardening and flowers.
Surviving is one daughter, Darlene (Jeff) Bochman, Menomonie, Wis.; two sons, Randall (Joy) Newburn, Kent, Wash., and Robert (Debbie) Newburn, Kokomo; five grandsons, Keith (Teri) Newburn, Quito, Ecuador, David (Gretel) Newburn, and Daniel (Melody) Newburn, both of Seattle, Wash.; Nathan (Lyndsey) Newburn, Muncie, and Michael (Amy) Bochman, Norwalk, Ohio; three granddaughters, Cristina Newburn, Seattle, Wash., Katie (Nick) Voss, Menomonie, Wis., and Heidi (Andrew) Bishop, Marysville, Ohio; eight great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Joan Plank, Walton.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Don Plank, and one sister, Frances Plummer.
A celebration of life will be at 4 p.m. Saturday in the New Life Alliance Church, with Pastor Woody Neu and Pastor Scott Halterman officiating. Burial was in Metea Cemetery.
A gathering of friends and family will be from 2 p.m. until time of services at the church.
