---- — CONVERSE — Robert J. Bruner, 86, Converse, formerly of Logansport, passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2014, in his home.
He was born Nov. 19, 1927, in Logansport, to the late Robert U. and Helen M. (Bauman) Bruner.
Robert graduated from Logansport High School and served in the U. S. Army. He married Geraldean Kilmer on July 8, 1948, and would have celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary in July of this year.
He was a journeyman pattern maker with General Motors retiring in 1987. Early on he played softball, basketball, football, bowling. Later he was an avid bowler and golfer.
Robert was a loving, caring man who always put his family first. He enjoyed life and found humor in everything. He was always happy and known for his smile. He will be sadly missed by family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldean; son, Robin Lee Bruner, Fishers; daughters, Beth (Eric) Juliot, Sharpsville, and Kathy (Douglas) Shildmier, Greenfield; two sisters: Vida Lee Keller and Darla M. Muehlhausen, both of Logansport; six grandchildren: Madison Bruner, Sarah Schildmier-Bloom (Chris Bloom), Jenna Schildmier (Michael O’Connor), Evan Schildmier, Nicholas Juliot and Zachary Juliot.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in the Owen-Weilert-Duncan Funeral Home, Larrison-Martin Chapel, 308 E. Marion St. in Converse. Burial will be in Converse Cemetery, Converse.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today and one hour prior to services on Saturday in the funeral home.
