Sylvia Rae Savoie, 27, Logansport, passed away at 7:51 p.m. Saturday, April 6, 2013, in Parkview Regional Hospital following injuries she sustained in an automobile accident in Carroll County.
She was born April 28, 1985, in Logansport, of the late Leon Charles Savoie I and Mary Gail Savoie, who survives in Logansport. Sylvia was a 2004 graduate of Logansport High School. She was a veteran of the United States Army.
With a smile that could light up a room, Sylvia loved to help others and she was fun-loving.
Surviving with her mother are her loving friend, Michael Harris, Tenn.; grandmother, Kay Mitchell, Logansport; five brothers, Oliver (RaiLynn) Bolin, Ga., Leon Savoie II, Camden, Steve Savoie, N.H., Brian Savoie, Kan., Marcus Crane, Logansport; three sisters, April Savoie, Logansport, Laurie Houghton, N.H., Bonnie Cozad, Mo., one stepsister Mary Ann (Rick) Wood, Monticello; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Fisher Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Rick Woodall officiating. Military honors will be conducted at the funeral chapel flagpole following the service.
Friends may call from 2 p.m. Saturday until the time of the service in the funeral chapel.
Sylvia’s memory and service to her country will be will be marked at Legion Circle in Mount Hope Cemetery.
