---- — Ruby F. Nead, 95, Logansport, passed away at 11:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Logansport.

Born Oct. 7, 1918, in Pulaski County, she was the daughter of the late Sank and Nellie M. (Hoch) Sanders. On May 30, 1937, in Miami County, she married Daniel LeRoy Nead, who preceded her in death July 8, 1987.

Ruby was a homemaker and a gray lady volunteer at Memorial Hospital for more than 40 years. She was a member of the McNeely Memorial Church and enjoyed crocheting.

Surviving are three sons, Richard (Patricia) Nead of Logansport, Donald L. Nead of Crystal Lake, Ill. and Daniel A. Nead of Erie, Colo.; nine grandchildren, Shari (Mark) Karlsrud of Saint Peter, Minn., Mary Ann (Brad) Netser of Logansport, Gary L. (Michelle) Nead of Fishers, Julie (John) Wallace of Crystal Lake, Ill., Tina Nead of Elroy, Wisc., Scott (Tasha) Halterman of Logansport, Derek (Sommer) Halterman of Fulton, Brent (Mindie) Halterman of Newburgh and Corey (Samantha) Halterman of Evansville; and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Wayne and Hugh Sanders.

A funeral service will be at noon Tuesday in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Bruce Russell officiating. Burial will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Logansport.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday.
