---- — GALVESTON — David G. Blackburn, 52, Galveston, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, at St. Joseph Hospital ER in Kokomo.

He was born May 4, 1961, in Kokomo, to Joe and Sudy Blackburn. David owned and operated Gateway R.V. and Kokomo Collision Center. He loved racing, working on cars and building models.

Surviving are his parents, Joe and Sudy Blackburn of Kokomo; son, Tyler Blackburn of Galveston; daughter, Lacey Blackburn of Kokomo; stepdaughters, Amber (Matt) Miller of Logansport and Alyssa Crites of Kokomo; grandson, Dillon Blackburn of Kokomo; sister, Kathy Blackburn of Elwood; brothers, Bob (Tyanne) Blackburn of Kokomo and Gary (Bridget) Blackburn of Warsaw.

David was preceded in death by one son, D.J. Blackburn.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Murray Weaver Funeral Home, Galveston, with Pastor Andrew Green officiating. Burial will follow at Galveston Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with David’s funeral expenses.
