---- — BURNETTSVILLE — Samuel F. Kochel, 88, Burnettsville, passed away at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013, at Pulaski Healthcare Center.
Born March 18, 1925, he was the son of the late Harry O. and Pearl (DeWitt) Kochel.
Samuel was a U.S. Army veteran serving in WWII and Korea. He also served in the Indiana National Guard. He was a member of the Royal Center Masonic Lodge and the V.F.W., Monticello.
He was a retired operating engineer and lifelong farmer.
Survivors include his children, Samuel W. Kochel (Sue), Headlee, Melody Ann Schahill (Thomas), Salem, Ohio and Marcia McBlaine-Miller; grandchildren, Esther Schahill Bailey, Sean Schahill, Michael Schahill, Kenny Kochel, Samuel Kochel, Jerry Kochel, Dale Gerrard, Melissa Procopio and Kevin Clothier and great-grandchildren, Dacey Kochel, Shellylane Kochel, Brock Abney, Samuel Kochel, Sarah Beckner, Andrew Carter, Anna Carter and Catherine Carter.
He was preceded in death by six brothers and one sister.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Home, Royal Center Chapel, with Pastor Edward Roller officiating. Burial will be at Bell Center Cemetery.
Visitation will be 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
