Thomas E. Prophet Sr., 57, Logansport, passed away at 11:45 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Central Hospital, Lafayette.
Born on Dec. 16, 1955, in Logansport, he was the son of the late Dale and Barbara (Russell) Prophet.
Tom retired from Indiana Packers, Delphi. He also formerly served in the Indiana National Guard. Tom enjoyed playing Santa for many years throughout the community.
Survivors include sons Thomas Prophet Jr. (Julie), and Shaun Prophet, all of Monticello; daughter, Candy Catt of Logansport; father, Bill Watts (Rosemary) of Winamac; brothers, Johnny Watts (Melissa) of Winamac, Jack Prophet (Kim) of Logansport, and Dale Prophet Jr., of Logansport; sisters, Tammy Brown (Rich) of Winamac, Ginger Elpers (Dave) of Logansport, Sue Welch (Dave) of Logansport and Tammy Doss (William Harts) of Logansport; and grandchildren, Jamie Prophet, Connor Prophet and Cadence Prophet all of Monticello. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and his beloved dog and best friend, Bandit.
He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Barbara (Russell) and Dale Prophet Sr.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Marocco-Rans Funeral Chapel.
A graveside service will be 1:30 p.m. today in Mount Hope Cemetery.
