Carol L. Carroll

LOGANSPORT — Carol L. Carroll, age 70, Logansport, was called home to her Lord with her pastor and family by her side, at 7:08 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, in her residence.

Born in Peru, on Oct. 4, 1942, she was the daughter of Shirley Lee and Frances “Jayne” Zook Douglas. Her mother and stepfather, Robert G. Wilhelm, raised Carol.

She was married Nov. 30, 1963, Celina, Tenn., to Robert L. Carroll, who survives.

Carol retired in 1993 from the Cass County Prosecutor’s Office. She had also worked as bailiff and legal secretary.

A 1960 graduate of Logansport High School, Carol was a member of Life Gate Church. She was also active at Peak Community Services (formerly Woodlawn Center), where she was a past board member and assisted in coordinating client activities. She was especially dedicated to the Special Olympics and Peak’s bowling programs.

She was a member of Delta Theta Chi sorority. A dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother, her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her grandchildren and family.

Surviving, in addition to her husband are daughters, Krista Carroll and Kim (Shawn) McLochlin, all of Logansport; grandchildren, Tyler Buell, Shadd McLochlin, Drake McLochlin and Laine McLochlin; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Judy and John Dutton, Kenneth City, Fla., Bonnie Carroll, Fort Wayne, Ann and Jr. Witt, Hudson, Ind., and Cindy and Tom LaDow, Logansport; several nieces, nephews and a cousin, Kim Bakehorn, Peru, as well as several other cousins, and her best friend, Carol Carney, Logansport.

Preceding in death were a daughter, Kelly Buell and brother-in-law, Dick Carroll.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Life Gate Church, 831 Burlington Ave., with Pastors Andy Weil and Bob Gray officiating. Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery at a later date.

Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Life Gate Church and from 9 to 10 a.m. on Wednesday, also at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Peak Community Services. Envelopes will be available at the church.
