---- — WINAMAC — Kathryn G. Ash, 102, Winamac, passed away at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014, at Pulaski Memorial Hospital, Winamac.

She was born May 16, 1911, in Kewanna, to Earl and Glen Barger Graffis.

Kathryn married Argyl E. Ash Feb. 21, 1937, in Hawesville, Ky. Argyl died Dec. 25, 1999.

Kathryn was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Indiana Retired Teachers Association and Delta Kappa Gamma Teachers Sorority. She was a Past Worthy Matron and member of Order of Eastern Star No. 96 in Winamac.

Kathryn was a retired elementary school teacher. She taught for over 40 years in schools in the Winamac area.

Kathryn enjoyed working with her husband Argyl in their apple orchard and truck patch on the family farm. She also enjoyed crocheting and playing cards.

Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Judy (Steve) Skersick of Trafalgar; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry (Judy) Ash of Kewanna; four grandchildren, Chris (Teri) Skersick, Annie (Mike) Marlatt, Greg Ash and Brian Ash; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by husband, Argyl E. Ash; father, Earl Graffis; mother, Glen Barger Graffis; sister, Margaret Jensen; and brothers, Herbert Graffis and Gerald Graffis.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. (EST) Saturday at Frain Mortuary, Winamac, with Bog Conn officiating. Burial will be in McKinley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Winamac.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the mortuary.

Memorial contributions may be given to Pulaski County Public Library.
