Richard A. ‘Dick’ Marks
INDIANAPOLIS — Services for Richard A. “Dick” Marks, 66, Indianapolis, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Castleton United Methodist Church, 7160 Shadeland Station Way, Indianapolis, with visitation an hour before the time of service.
He died at 9:40 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009, at Marquette Manor Healthcare in Indianapolis.
Born on July 20, 1943, in LaPorte, he was the son of the late Edward and Melba Marks. On Aug. 22, 1965, he was married to Joan Z. Jones, of Star City, and she survives.
He was a 1961 graduate of Hanna High School and a 1966 graduate of Purdue University.
Mr. Marks was chief operating officer at WTH Technology in Indianapolis, and he was also former vice president, General Manager of Fujitsu Ten in Rushville.
He was a member of Castleton United Methodist Church and his hobbies were spending time with his family, fishing, working on cars, watching NASCAR and technology. He enjoyed his family time watching the sunsets on Sanibel Island, Fla. He was also a former pilot and aviation mechanic who enjoyed flying.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Joan Z. Marks, Indianapolis; daughter, Debbie Applegarth and her husband, David, LaPorte; son, Scott Marks and his wife, Jamie, of St. Louis, Mo.; sisters, Judy Bechinski and husband, Don, Hanna, and Jean Burich and husband, Jim, of Cincinnati, Ohio; and five grandchildren, Jacob, Nicholas and David Applegarth and Cooper and Layla Marks. His extended family also meant very much to him.
Graveside services will be at 5 p.m. (4 p.m. CST) at Door Village Cemetery in LaPorte.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Harrison-Metzger & Rans Funeral Home, Royal Center.
