Nina Rose Shimer Hopkins
WINAMAC —A memorial service for Nina Rose Shimer Hopkins, 84, Zionsville, will be held at 6 p.m. Friday in First United Methodist Church in Winamac. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Buffaloville. Graveside services will be held at St. John’s United Church of Christ Cemetery immediately following funeral services.
She passed away Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008, at Zionsville Meadows Nursing Home in Zionsville.
Born Jan. 1, 1924, in Lamar, she was the daughter of Wallace and Dorothy Shimer.
Nina graduated from Dale High School in Dale and worked many years for Dr. Edward Hollenberg in Winamac. She was an active member of the United Church of Christ in Crown Point and Spring Hill, Fla.
Surviving are sons, Mike Hopkins, Brownsburg, and Randy Hopkins, Bloomfield Hills, Mich.; sister, Lillian Foertsch, Evansville; brothers, John Shimer, Dayton, Ohio, and Bill Shimer, Juliette, Ga.; six granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband, Ralph Hopkins; son, David Hopkins; and sister, Dorothy Lietz.
Friends may call one hour before services Friday at First United Methodist Church in Winamac.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Frain Mortuary in Winamac is in charge of arrangements.
