Edward V. Brown

KOKOMO — Services for Edward V. Brown, 93, Twelve Mile, formerly of Kokomo, will be held at 3:30 p.m. today at Ellers Mortuary, Webster Street Chapel, 3400 S. Webster. 
He passed away at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at Caring Hands Health Care Center. 
Born Oct. 11, 1914, in Walkerton, he was the son of Fred and Garnet Stevenson Eckert. On May 26, 1934, in Kokomo, he was married to Maxine Milner, who survives.
He had previously worked at Continental Steel during the war, and had retired in 1974 from Delco, where he was a tool designer for 25 years. He was a 50-year member of the Moose Lodge in Kokomo, and the Masonic Lodge in Macy. He was an outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, hunting, and working outside. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife of 74 years, Maxine Brown, Twelve Mile; daughter, Diane and Bob Zartman, Nyona Lake; son, Edward and Barbara Brown, Kokomo; grandchildren, Bryan and Pam Barnett, Greentown, Brent and Tina Barnett, Jacksonville, Fla., Beth and Chris Campbell, Elwood, and Seth Edward Brown, Avon; great-grandchildren, Craig and Jason Barnett, Jacksonville, Fla., and Braden Barnett, Greentown. 
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Brad Barnett; and two great-grandsons, Ryan and Joshua Barnett.
Pastor Steve Fleck will be officiating. A private burial will follow at Crown Point Cemetery. 
Friends may call one hour before the service at the mortuary.
