ROYAL CENTER — Services for Robert M. Hettinger, 70, Logansport, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday at Harrison-Metzger & Rans Funeral Home, Royal Center Chapel.
He died at 12:40 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2008, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Logansport.
Born Nov. 19, 1937, in White County, he was the son of the late Edgar R. and Josephine O. Layer Hettinger.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Bob retired in 2001 from Federal Mogul in Logansport after 33 years. He was an avid ham radio operator, and he enjoyed fishing and gardening.
He was a member of American Legion Post 60 and VFW Post 3790, Logansport.
Surviving are one daughter, Leann Duez, Danville, Ill.; four brothers, Homer Hettinger and his wife, Virginia, Star City, and James Hettinger and his wife, Jeannie, Richard Hettinger and his wife, Judi, and Thomas Hettinger and his wife, Haley, all of Logansport; and one sister, Mary Tutterow and her husband, Raymond, Logansport. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Ronald Hettinger; one sister, Virginia Hettinger; and two brothers, Paul and David Hettinger.
Pastor Dirk Raderstorf will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Davis Cemetery, Burnettsville.
Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
