Orville Berkshire

CAMDEN — Services for Orville Berkshire, 83, Camden, will be held at 2 p.m. today in Cree Funeral Home.

He died at 5:45 p.m. Monday, June 30, 2008, in Whispering Pines Nursing Home in Monticello.

Born Feb. 21, 1925, in Cass County, he was the son of Enos and Vernie Lee Fry Berkshire.

A 1943 graduate of Rockfield High School, Orville was a self-employed farmer and lifetime resident of the Carroll County area. He also served in the U.S. Navy in World War II.

He was a life member of the National Rifle Association.

He enjoyed fishing with family and friends.

Surviving are two brothers, Keith (Beverly) Berkshire, Burnettsville, and Kenneth (Mary Ann) Berkshire, Delphi; one sister, Margaret Ann (James) Vernon, Indianapolis; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Nettie Hinkle.

Pastor Paul Marcellino will officiate. Burial, with military graveside rites conducted by the American Legion and VFW, will be in Camden Cemetery.
