Barbara Ellen Reisman

WINAMAC — Memorial services for Barbara Ellen Reisman, 76, Monterey, will be 3 p.m. Sunday in Frain Mortuary, Winamac.

She died at 8:40 a.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2009, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Culver.

Born July 25, 1932, in Leiters Ford, she was the daughter of Hugh Albert Stamm and Helen Vernice Castleman Stamm. She was married on Sept. 4, 1965, in Plymouth to Earl Charles Reisman, who survives.

A 1950 graduate of Monterey High School, Barbara attended nurse’s training in South Bend. She was a former operator for General Telephone in Logansport. She also worked at Hart-Shaffner-Marx in Rochester and Stamm Insurance in Monterey.

She loved to garden, read and watch football, especially Notre Dame football. She also loved her cats. Her family was her strength, and she had a zest for life.

Also surviving are her daughters, Debe (William) Fred, Rochester, and Kathy (Ken) Black, Buford, Ga.; son, Steve (Mary) Reisman, Mercer, Wis.; grandson, Scott (Lisa) Fred, Rochester; granddaughter, Tara (Danny) Taylor, Kokomo; grandson, Stacy Reisman, Warsaw; granddaughter, Tiffany Reisman, Mercer, Wis.; great-granddaughters, Megan Fred and Ashley Fred, both of Rochester; and brother, John Stamm, Cathedral City, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, John S. Reisman.

Pastor Bruce Russell will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Lake Bruce.

Friends may call after 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Diabetes Foundation or Alzheimer’s Association.
