Caston 1, Mac 0
The Comets recorded the win in Bunker Hill on Tuesday. Braden Moss scored the lone goal of the contest on an assist by Carlos Lorza Rios in the first half.
“First, credit to Maconaquah,” CHS coach Nars Sanchez said. “They were to tough to break down. They were stingy in the 18 and did well keeping the score line to 1-0.
“We had the majority of possession. We had some 21 shots on goal and unfortunately only able to finish on one of those shots.”
The Caston coach credited his team.
“Jose [Pinto] had a very good performance for us in the mid and was able to get in dangerous spots to either put the ball in space or get a shot on goal repeatedly. Braden and Alex [Howdeshell] are starting to build chemistry with our midfielders, and both Victor [Artero-Rios] and Jose are seeing more runs up into the 18 because of it. I would really like to see my senior captain Victor to take more shots and runs up the middle of the park.
“Sarah [Holt], Addison [Sarver], Santiago [Henderson] and Luke [Sutton] were all key components to the match and played quality minutes for us in our win. While we played well in every phase of the match, we still have loads of room for improvement, netting more shots, to be specific. Overall, I am content with our performance and look to see more improvement as we push towards sectionals.”
