Tickets go on sale Wednesday at Pioneer
ROYAL CENTER — Pioneer High School will have advance tickets for the Class A football regional game against Winamac on sale beginning Wednesday in the school's bookstore. Tickets are $7. Fans are encouraged to buy their tickets in advance to avoid long lines at the ticket booth on game night.
Pioneer also is taking orders in the bookstore for sectional championship T-shirts. The price is $10.
No. 9 Pioneer (10-2) hosts No. 3 Winamac (12-0) Friday night.
Logan girls are No. 5 in Class 4A state poll
The Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association released its first girls basketball poll of the season.
In Class 4A, Logansport is No. 5. Defending state champion Bedford North Lawrence leads the 4A Top 10 followed by Columbus North, Lawrence North, Indianapolis Roncalli and the Berries.
Rushville (3A), Heritage Christian (2A) and Oregon-Davis (1A) are the other No. 1 teams. Winamac received votes in Class 2A, and fell three spots outside of the Top 10.
• In the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association's poll, Logansport is No. 8. The IBCA's poll is Top 20 and is open to all teams in all classes. BNL is No. 1.
Special Olympics ready for practices to start
The Special Olympics Cass County's basketball teams will begin practice this week.
For women's basketball, practice is planned for Wednesday at Columbia Elementary School. The Lady Shooters will practice from 5:30-6:30 p.m. and the Lady Kats will follow from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Cheerleading practice will start Nov. 20, with the first session planned for 7:30 to 8:15 p.m. at Columbia Elementary.
For men's basketball, practice is planned for Wednesday at Franklin Elementary School. The Kats and Wildcats will hold a joint practice at 6 p.m. in order to division teams. The following Wednesday (Nov. 20), the Kats will practice from 6-7 p.m. and the Wildcats will follow from 7-8 p.m.
