Sports briefs for Wednesday, Jan. 15

Marion High to honor LHS all-sports tickets

Marion High School will be honoring Logansport High School all-sports and basketball season passes at Friday’s basketball doubleheader at Bill Green Athletic Arena. Tickets may also be purchased at the door for $5. Fans may enter at Doors 10, 11, 14 and 15. Gates open at 5:30 p.m.

The doubleheader features Miss Basketball candidate Whitney Jennings from Logansport and Mr. Basketball candidate James Blackmon Jr. from Marion. The girls game tips off at 6:30 p.m. followed by the boys game at 8.

Schrock has career game for Manchester

NORTH MANCHESTER — Logansport High School product Jarod Schrock scored a career-high 23 points for Manchester University’s men’s basketball team in a 67-63 loss to Transylvania on Saturday.

The sophomore also grabbed four rebounds and dished three assists for the Spartans (2-11, 1-5 HCAC).

Logansport bowling club winds down season

Logansport High School’s bowling club competed at the sectional on Saturday. The lone standing bowler who survived was Shaylee Boyer, who finished as the No. 4 seed and advanced to regionals.

“We had our ups and downs on both sides, girls and boys, but at the end of the day I am so proud of them all for never quitting or giving up,” coach Al Franklin said. “We graduate one senior on the boys side this year who also finished in the top eight in the conference, Tyler Reinholt. The girls had a strong season led by Courtney Collis who finished fourth in conference in average.”

Caston High to host donkey basketball

FULTON — Caston is hosting a donkey basketball game at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 24 at the high school gym. Advance tickets are $6, and tickets at the door are $8.

Tickets can be purchased in the bookstore or at any boys or girls basketball game this Friday or Saturday.
