A heavy-hearted Stephanie Shorter scored 18 points to lead the Warriors to a win past visiting Rensselaer.
“Stephanie played very well as we knew she had a heavy heart from the loss of her grandmother [Thursday],” Winamac coach Jeff Wagner said. “We give the Shorter family our condolences due to their loss.”
Jessica Schramm added 13 points in the win for Winamac.
The Warriors trailed throughout but grabbed the lead in the final minute and held on. They trailed 17-5 after one quarter, 23-18 at halftime and 27-26 after three.
Laura Tonner led the Bombers (3-1) with 20 points. Aimee Mattocks and Emilie Ziese added six apiece.
