“We ran through the middle and Katie Leach and Trisha Hartley did a really nice job,” Cass coach Gretchen Crum said. “Trisha is our 6-foot freshman and she was really aggressive and hit it hard and put it past people. She did a real nice job. … Emily and Claire served very aggressively. We did a really nice job on serves. We had 15 aces in the match.”
Gretchen Crum added senior kills leader Maddie Eurit, who’s been out with an injury, was back on the bench for senior night after suffering a recent fall.
Winamac 3, Tri-County 0
The Warriors won at Tri-County 25-23, 25-13, 25-23 to improve to 14-14 and 1-4 in the Midwest Conference.
“We had to change things up a little bit since we lost Jaclyn Jacobs to a knee injury,” coach Cathy DeFries said. “I thought the girls adapted well and took care of things in three games which we needed to do in a conference game situation.”
Heidi Hendryx had 13 kills and 10 digs for Winamac, Taelor McClure had 10 kills, 11 digs and five blocks, Taylor Jones had 13 kills and Savanna Button added eight kills. Whitney Hook dished 30 assists. Bethany Brogdon collected 13 digs. Breanna Taylor added four blocks.
Carroll 3, Taylor 0
The Cougars recorded their second win in a row and third of the season with a 25-17, 25-16, 25-22 win over visiting Taylor.
Bailey Worl had 14 kills for Carroll, and Cassidy Carman posted 24 digs, seven kills and four aces. Kaitlin Ragan dished 27 assists. Macey Ropes was 6-for-6 in hitting.
Logansport’s semifinal match against West Lafayette was rained out and rescheduled for 4:30 p.m. today. The final is set for Thursday.
