Caston picked up its first win of the season Saturday at the Tri-County Invite, as the Comets defeated the host Cavaliers 25-18, 22-25, 15-10.
The Comets lost to Winamac 25-15, 25-13, North White 25-11, 25-23 and South Newton 25-20, 23-25, 15-11 at the invite.
Rochester 3, Cass 0
Cass fell short in losing 25-20, 25-14, 25-21 in three games.
“We were in sets one and three, and we just didn’t finish,” Cass coach Gretchen Crum said. “[We] had our season first spell of poor passing in set two, and didn’t recover in time. But, I was very satisfied with our effort and determination. We continue to improve our offensive effort and played solid defense.”
Claire Crum led Cass with eight kills and four digs. Aubrey Young added four kills and two aces. Bailey Gremelspacher also contributed with nine assists. Kassi Zeck had eight digs, and Gabi Hartley had six assists.
Frontier 3, Delphi 0
Frontier swept Delphi in winning 25-19, 25-20, 25-19.
Emma Carpenter led Delphi with 16 digs and five kills. Faith Maxwell added 14 digs and three aces, and Myka Roth came up with five kills and three assists. The Oracles’ Morgan Crowel led with 15 assists and Hunter Hart also led with seven kills.
Culver 3, Winamac 1
The Warriors lost 25-20, 9-25, 25-23, 29-27 at Culver.
