Victor resigns as Logansport boys basketball coach

Mark Victor announced at Wednesday’s end-of-the-season banquet that he has decided to resign as the Logansport boys basketball coach, according to LHS athletic director Greg Fisher.

Victor went 65-63 during his six years at Logan, and he has won 160 games during his 12-year coaching career.

“Mark has worked extremely hard for us at Logansport High School,” Fisher said. “For the 10 years that he’s been here, Mark has served us very well as an assistant and his tenure as a head coach is one of the most successful in recent past. We’re very appreciative of Mark’s efforts and Mark’s time and energy, and we respect his decision to resign and we wish him nothing but great things. I’m sure Mark will continue to be involved in basketball for many more years.”

Fisher talked about hiring the next Berries coach.

“It’s a process that has to take place,” he said. “Obviously the job has to be posted. Once that job is posted then a period of time will elapse and I’m sure there will be some interest in the position. We’ll set up a process to follow through to select the next coach. It’s one of those jobs that we think is a great place to work, a great setting, a great conference, great competition. So hopefully we’ll be able to start this process very quickly and be on the way to naming a replacement in the very near future.”
