“We faced some good pitching and got beat by pretty good teams. We played really well for the most part. We didn’t make errors; we hit the ball fairly well. We just ran into two pretty good teams. They had the big hits and we didn’t.”
Logan finished with a 14-11 record for the summer. With a few exceptions, the team was made up of what will be next year’s Logansport High School baseball team.
“It was especially good for guys like [Marcus] Record and Kinnaman who have to play big innings next year,” Gellinger said. “Our pitchers got to face good competition. We were going up against area All-Star teams. Most high school teams have five or six good hitters and these guys could all hit one through nine.”
