Post 60 gears up for sectional play
Logansport Post 60 will compete at the Lafayette Sectional at Loeb Stadium this weekend.
Logansport (13-9) plays Crawfordsville Post 72 at 4 p.m. today.
The winner plays at noon Saturday, and the loser plays at 3 p.m. Saturday. Lafayette Post 11 and Remington Post 280 are the other two teams in the field. The finals of the double-elimination tournament begin at noon on Sunday.
Logan coach Tyler Gellinger said he hopes his team isn’t effected by rust, as its played just one game this month. But the squad is finally healthy, as Austin Clem and Dustin Clements are set to return from injuries. The squad will be without Xavier Luna, though, as he will be competing for Hoosier North which recently advanced to the Colt World Series.
All-Star football game is tonight
Winamac coach Tim Roth will lead the North team as the head coach of tonight’s North-South All-Star Football Classic.
The annual gridiron matchup features the best players in the state. It gets underway at 7 p.m. tonight at North Central High School in Indianapolis.
Winamac will also have a player in the game in Zach Shidler, who will play at wide receiver for the All-Stars. He will be joined on the North team by Pioneer’s Josh Lytle, a 6-foot-4, 280-pound offensive lineman.
Shidler and Lytle are the 11th and 10th players selected to represent their schools at the game, respectively.
