Tech will have the largest enrollment in the NCC at 2,398. That is more than double the enrollment of Marion (1,159).
The NCC is also adding Lafayette Jeff (1,935), McCutcheon (1,809) and Harrison (1,740) for the 2015-16 school year. They’ll join Anderson (1,884), Kokomo (1,879), a consolidated Muncie (1,842), Richmond (1,506), Logan (1,245) and Marion (1,159).
The proposed West Division would include Logan, Kokomo, Harrison, Jeff and McCutcheon. The East Division would include Anderson, Marion, Muncie, Richmond and Tech.
Jasmine Penny named DePaul’s MVP
CHICAGO — The DePaul women’s basketball team celebrated its successful 2013-14 season at Erie Café in Chicago’s River North neighborhood on Tuesday.
Senior Jasmine Penny was named the team’s most valuable player while nine other awards were handed out in an evening in which the Blue Demons celebrated the program’s third NCAA Sweet 16 appearance and its Big East Conference regular season and tournament championships.
Penny was named the team’s MVP after leading the Blue Demons in total points (568) and averaging 15.8 points per game. The senior from Logansport knocked down 58 percent of her shots which was the 11th best field goal percentage in Division I and was key to her being named a WBCA Honorable Mention All-America.
The All-Big East first team selection and Big East Tournament MVP ranks fifth all-time at DePaul in field goal percentage and finished her career with 1,417 points which ranks 17th all-time in the Blue Demon annals.
