Champion scores 20 in Le Moyne win
WEST HAVEN, Conn. – Nate Champion scored 20 points to lead the Le Moyne College men’s basketball team to a 79-71 victory over the University of New Haven on Wednesday night in Northeast-10 Conference action at Charger Gymnasium.
Champion, who tallied 11 of his game-high point total in the second half, dished out eight assists and grabbed three rebounds.
New Haven was selected to win the Northeast-10 Conference Southwest Division in the conference’s preseason coaches’ poll. Le Moyne (2-1, 1-0 NE-10) won at New Haven for the first time since 2009.
Hanson earns KIAC volleyball honor
KOKOMO — Indiana University Kokomo volleyball player Cortney Hanson has been named to the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference’s second team.
The sophomore setter averaged a conference best 9.8 assists per set and was second in the KIAC with 1,115 assists. Hanson, a Pioneer grad, accumulated 226 digs and 23 blocks on the year. Hanson helped the Cougars to a 28-11 record this past season.
