Logansport claimed five individual titles at the North Central Conference swimming and diving meet Saturday at the University of Indianapolis.
On the girls side, sophomores Becca Yeoman (50 freestyle, 100 freestyle) and Jennifer Crafford (100 breaststroke) were both able to repeat as North Central Conference champions, and on the boys side, junior Dustin Clements (100 backstroke) and senior Tyler Graves (diving) each claimed their first NCC titles.
The Logan girls placed fourth as a team, and the boys placed sixth.
The Logan boys divers finished 1-3-4, marking the first time in school history the Berries had three divers on the podium at the NCC’s. Jake Forgey placed third and Dustin Shafer was fourth.
Brooke Bullard placed eighth in diving in the girls event to also reach the podium.
Also in the girls event, Emily Clark placed second in the 100 butterfly and fourth in the 200 free. Crafford was fourth in the 200 IM. Kayla Mullins was eighth in the 500 free, and Ashley Fawcett was ninth in the 100 back.
Fawcett, Crafford, Clark and Yeoman placed second in the 200 medley relay.
In the boys event, Logan James placed third in the 500 free and fourth in the 200 free. Clements was fourth in the 50 free. Zane Densborn was sixth in the 200 IM and 10th in the 100 breast. Marcus Record placed 12th in the 100 free.
Winamac 47, Knox 40
Stephanie Shorter scored 27 points to lead the Class 2A No. 7 Warriors to a win at Knox.
“I was happy with the way we worked through some adversity early in the game, and in the second have as well, and hitting free throws down the stretch just added to my pleasure,” Winamac coach Jeff Wagner said. “It was the tale of two halves from the free throw line, after going 3 for 9 in the first half, the girls were able to go 21 for 25 in the second half. That was essentially the ballgame.”
Bethany Brogdon scored eight points and Jessica Schramm added six for Winamac (11-2). Whitney Hook pulled down nine rebounds.
Carroll 37, Caston 28
Ingrid Martinez scored 14 points to lead the Comets in a loss at Carroll. Anna Brown added seven.
Kaitlin Ragan had 13 points and Libby Eller added nine to lead Carroll (11-5).
Caston won at South Newton 42-23 Friday night. Martinez had 14 points, Mickayla Rans had 12 and Marli Leazenby added seven in the win.
Caston is 7-8 and 1-3 in the Midwest Conference.
