While the Berries didn’t quite put on the offensive show they normally do, their efforts were still enough for a 19-point win in front of a big crowd for senior night Friday.
Jennings just missed a triple-double with 21 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists. She added four steals.
Penny added 18 points and four rebounds in the win. Dalton had nine points on 3 of 8 shooting from 3 and added four boards.
Katrina Neuendorf hit a 3 to open the game for the Berries. Kain added four rebounds, as did Bullard. Karli Armstrong hit a 3 in the first half that gave the Berries an early 19-6 lead, and they led 28-18 at halftime and 42-29 after three.
Laurhen Pickett led the Indians (8-10) with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Kassie Hunt also had a double-double with 11 points and 12 boards.
Although it was the final regular-season game in the Berry Bowl barring any late schedule changes, the Berries were awarded to host Class 4A Sectional 7 again this year after McCutcheon’s court was damaged due to a sprinkler pipe break during sub-zero weather conditions.
Jennings said she and her teammates appreciate the fan support.
“There was a great turnout by our community and it meant a lot to me and I’m sure our other seniors to have that turnout. I’ve had great support here the last four years and the numbers have rose every year as far as attendance,” she said. “I want to thank our community for supporting us. It’s been a great four years and hopefully we’ve got a little bit left in us.”
